An early morning walk around St Ives' beaches and harbourfront on a beautiful spring morning.
Heading off at around 6.30am from Porthminster beach I wander through the old cottages of the Warren and down to St Ives' harbour. Brimming with picture-postcard appeal, the harbour is at it's very best with the early morning sun casting a golden light on the seafront bars and cafes.
After walking to the end of Smeaton's Pier I take the lanes around to a couple of St Ives' quieter beaches before checking out the waves at the town's surfing beach, Porthmeor.
From the beach it is back to the cobbles and cottages of the Downalong and a return to the harbour. With the sun a little higher and the tide a little lower I walk across the harbour beach and retrace my route to Porthminster.
Before reaching the beach I make one last stop - the Malakoff. This has to have the best view of any bus station in Britain. The views out over the rooftops towards the harbour are simply stunning.
