The Star of Life is a purpose built floating ambulance that serves the Scilly Isles. Launched in 2003 the 36ft catamaran is as well equipped as its land-based contemporaries.
Powered by twin water jets, the ambulance can reach speed of up to 25 knots and can be used to transport patients to the mainland, 28 miles away.
