The clock tower in the centre of St Teath was erected in memory of those from the parish who had lost their lives in various wars, particularly World War I.
The tower was built in 1920 by volunteers to a design by a local mine manager, Oswald Swete. It is powered by a weight which needs re-hoisting every 6 days.
