Porthleven Harbour

View down over Porthleven Harbour on a crisp January afternoon. This is the UK's most southerly port and faces south-westerly into the full force of the Atlantic. As such the harbour here is particularly sturdy with an inner and outer harbour, both featuring massive granite walls.

This is one of the most dramatic places in Cornwall to watch the winter storms, and when they hit the narrow entrance to the inner harbour is boarded up with huge wooden beams.
