A wonderfully sharp vintage photo of fish being packed in St Ives some time around the turn of the century.
I'm pretty sure the fish are mackerel, although the main fish historically would have been pilchards.These would have been landed by the St Ives fishing fleet with its unique "jumbo" luggers.
