A "mermaid's purse", washed up on a beach on the Scilly Isles.
You may be surprised to know these are not actually what mermaids use to carry their small change in. They are actually the egg cases of sharks.
This one is probably from a lesser-spotted dogfish, Scyliorhinus canicula
