Locomotive 08645 - St Piran

This little locomotive caught my attention in it's Cornish colours complete with St Piran flag. At the time I didn't realise it was a well known engine which even has its own Hornby replica.

The loco started life in 1959 at the Horwich Works near Bolton. Known as D3812 in those days the little diesel worked in South Wales.

On moving to the Longrock Depot, near Penzance, came a change of number and name. St Piran also had a change of livery to this fetching all-Kernow look.
