Polperro Model Village is home to a perfect scale version of the real life picture-postcard village of Polperro in Cornwall, the very spot in which the attraction is located. Almost unique among model villages for this reason, everything has been recreated to the tiniest of details, from red telephone boxes to shop signs.
Open since the late 1940s, the model village is a wonderful place to get a sense for traditional Cornish villages, while admiring the artistic skill and whimsy necessary to create such an attraction.
The same ticket also gives you access to the Land of Legend attraction and a model railway. Land of Legend helps to unravel the intricacies of Cornish folklore through a series of seven dioramas enhanced by the use of light and sound. A delightful OO gauge model railway can also be explored, with its trains making their run around a rural Cornish landscape.
Polperro Model Village can be found in the Old Forge buildings on Mill Hill. It's open every day from Easter until October, with adult tickets costing £3 (2021 price).
