Ancient Sites of West Cornwall

Lesser known sites in the Far West

A follow up to my Ancient Stones of West Cornwall video from many years ago. This time I went exploring some of West Cornwall's lesser known ancient sites - although there are a couple of more familiar ones thrown in.

The far west of Cornwall (Penwith) is full of megalithic sites dating back to the Bronze Age, Stone Age and Iron Age. While a number of these are fairly well known and easily accessible from the road side (e.g. Lanyon Quoit or the Merry Maidens) many require a little more footwork, map skills and perseverance to find.

Hopefully this video will show the great variety of some of theses less well known ancient stones and their spectacular locations.

I shot about half of these locations accompanied by the trusty Cornwall Guide dog, Pablo.
