Ancient cross in Camborne churchyard

An ancient cross in the churchyard of Camborne's St Martin and St Meriadoc church. This is one of two such crosses in the churchyard.

I believe this is a wayside cross dating from the medieval period, i.e. 9th to 15th centuries. These were used as waymarkers to mark routes , particularly in difficult and unmarked terrain. They also served the purpose of reinforcing Christianity.
