The Tamar Otter and Wildlife Centre is run by the Otter Trust and is the only place in the West Country where British otters are bred on a regular basis. It runs a programme to reintroduce young otters back into the wild every year and has a rehabilitation centre for orphaned otter cubs. There are regular otter feeding times and the otter keepers give talks about the animals. In addition to the European and Asian short clawed otters, the centre is also home to three species of deer, peacocks, wallabies, Snowy and barn owls and water fowl.
