The River Lerryn as it passes through the village (of Lerryn) on its way down to joining the River Fowey. The river here is tidal and on lower tides the river can be crossed via a series of stepping stones.

It has been said that Kenneth Grahame may have based the book 'The Wind in the Willows' or 'Tales of the Riverbank' on Lerryn
