Porthleven Inner Harbour

As the UK's most southerly, and probably most exposed port, Porthleven has to provide a particularly well protected haven for its fishing fleet. To do this the harbour consists of not one, but two sets of massively thick granite walls.

This photo shows the inner-most section of the harbour. You can tell it wasn't too stormy when the photo was taken as the narrow harbour entrance is still open. When the winter storms roll in this is boarded up with huge timber beams.
