Looking out over the vast stretch of golden sand that is Crantock beach at low tide. Set at the mouth of the Gannel estuary the beach here is almost as deep as it is wide. On lower tides you can easily walk over half a mile up the sands of the estuary. Although not generally considered part of Newquay, Crantock is the next beach around from Fistral.
