Fresh from the Sea // Port Isaac

Fisherman Calum and his partner Tracey opened Fresh from the Sea in 2010, selling Calum's daily catch. They've since expanded into a cafe, where you can call in for a crab sandwich (cooked and picked on the premises) and a piece of cake.

All the seafood served and sold in the shop and cafe is sustainably fished, by Calum on the Mary D and from other local fishing boats who follow ethical fishing practices. You can pick up fresh crab and lobster as well as line-caught mackerel and pollock.

An aside: Calum works with the National Lobster hatchery at Padstow, taking them any berried hens (pregnant lobsters) he catches, ensuring that as many eggs as possible can be nurtured into baby lobsters. He then helps release the young grown lobsters into the sea, ensuring sustainable stocks.
