Fal River Festival

By . Last updated

The Fal River winds gently from its source on Goss Moor, in the heart of Cornwall, to the English Channel at Falmouth, passing through some of Cornwall's finest rural scenery and county town along the way. The eponymous Fal River Festival is a celebration of the river's communities and their heritage.

Over its 10-day duration, somewhere in the region of 150 different events are organised, taking in everything from themed walks around Falmouth, to swimming races and drama extravaganzas.

Taking place at the end of May each year, the Fal River Festival creates a great opportunity to mix with residents as well as visitors in this charming part of Cornwall, just as the late spring evenings extend. The convivial atmosphere creates the perfect backdrop for the pop-up open-air cinemas and other venues that together make the festival such a special event.
